In the heart of North Devon just 15 minutes from Woolacombe and close to Exmoor, Barnstaple, Ilfracombe, Croyde and Combe Martin is a beautiful farmstead called Holwell. The old farmhouse sits peacefully in a sheltered hollow, down a 1/2 mile track, with its own private spring water supply and 5 acres of land amidst the typical Devon rolling hills and pastures. There is a Yoga and treatments centre on site, to be booked separately, where you can sometimes enjoy classes (non at the moment due to COVID-19) massage treatments and holistic therapies subject to booking.

With its own water supply from natural springs the owners encourage an ecological approach to living & their land is as organic as possible. Everyone agrees that this place has a healing energy.

On the land, in its own Secret Garden, sits the 18ft Mongolian Yurt which sleeps 2 comfortably in a double bed. There is seating, a table and folding chair, wardrobe and soft lighting. Just outside is the delightful, rustic outdoor kitchen and chill out den with BBQ, work area, storage and covered seating. Charging is no issue as there are Solar powered USB ports in the outdoor area, in the yurt and in the laundry barn. The yurt now has a small wood-burner and there is also a chiminea outside to warm you in the evening. There are various seating options around the Secret Garden.
You have use of a laundry barn with facilities to wash up, a washing machine, tumble drier, toilet, shower and sink. An outdoor tap with hose attachment is useful for washing wetsuits after a day at the beaches nearby. This is a shared space with 2 other people in our family. Back at the Secret Garden is a rotary airer for you to use.
This magical space will suit those wanting to have a “getaway from it all” break yet be amongst a family farmstead. There is a stone circle for meditation, lots of paths through the land, orchards and wooded areas to explore and have picnics.
Even though there is a little lighting in the Yurt and Secret Garden, it is advisable to bring a good torch as the walk to the toilet is not all lit. The family here have 3 cats who might visit. Mobile signal is limited and internet is poor at best.
